What the MCP server is

The Liminal MCP server lets you connect an AI client — Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, and any other MCP-compatible app — to your Liminal account. Once connected, you can ask about your balances, transactions, savings, and investments in plain language, and ask Nim to send money, convert currencies, save, or invest — right from your assistant.
Nothing moves without your approval
Section titled “Nothing moves without your approval”Your assistant can read your account and draft actions, but nothing moves money until you approve it in the Liminal app. Every payment, transfer, trade, or savings move becomes a request on your phone that you approve or decline — the same confirmation you’d get if you’d started it in the app.
Reading your balance is instant. Moving money always waits for you. See Permissions & approvals for how this works.
What you can ask
Section titled “What you can ask”Once you’re connected, try:
- “What’s my balance, and what did I spend last week?”
- “Show me my last 10 transactions.”
- “Send $50 to @jack for dinner.”
- “What’s the rate to convert 500 USD to SGD?”
- “Move $200 into savings.”
- “Buy $100 of AAPL.”
- “Remember that I want to save $500 a month.”
The read questions answer immediately. The last four create a request you approve in the app before anything happens.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”You need:
- A Liminal account (the same login you use in the app).
- Available Liminal credits — MCP access uses your plan, shared with Nim chat. If you run out, reads and actions pause until your credits reset.
