Create your account & verify identity

Getting started takes two parts: creating your account, and verifying your identity. You can create an account in under a minute — identity verification only happens later, the first time you try something that needs it.
Create your account
Section titled “Create your account”- Enter your email — or choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple.
- Check your inbox for a 6-digit code and enter it. It verifies as soon as you type the last digit.
- Enter your first name, last name, and pick a handle. Your handle is checked for availability as you type.
- Agree to the Terms & Conditions and continue.
Liminal then sets up your wallet and account in the background — you’ll see a short loading screen before landing in the app.
Verifying your identity
Section titled “Verifying your identity”Liminal doesn’t ask for identity verification (KYC) up front. It’s only required the first time you try to do something that needs it, like depositing or withdrawing money — you’ll see a Complete Verification prompt at that point.
- Enter your phone number and date of birth, if we don’t already have them on file.
- Enter your residential address.
- Choose your nationality and, if required for your country, your national ID.
- Liminal hands off to our verification partner, Persona, to scan an ID document and take a quick selfie.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”Once you submit, you’ll see a Verification Submitted confirmation — reviews are usually done in under 10 minutes, but can take up to 1–3 business days. You’ll get a push notification and an email when it’s ready.
If verification doesn’t go through, you’ll see a Verification Incomplete screen with the option to try again.
You can check on your verification any time — if it’s still pending or needs attention, a status banner shows up on your Transactions tab.
