Request money or split a bill

Requesting money

1. From the Payments hub, tap Request Money, or open Pay Someone and pick a contact the same way you would to send.
2. Enter an amount and add an optional note, then slide to confirm.

The recipient sees it as an incoming request they can pay directly from their app, or decline.

Splitting a transaction

1. Open any transaction’s details and tap Split this bill.
2. Pick who to split it with.
3. Choose Equal, Percent, or Custom to set each person’s share.

Each participant gets a payment request for their share.

Tabs for ongoing group expenses

1. From the Payments hub, tap Tabs → Create Tab, name it, pick a currency, and add members.
2. Add bills to the tab as they come up — a name and amount, split the same way as above.
3. The tab tracks a running balance for everyone. When you’re ready, tap Settle Up, pick a currency, and slide to confirm — it settles every debt you owe in that currency in one go, each as an instant transfer.

Tip

Paid someone back outside the app — cash, another app, a bank transfer? Use Record a Payment on the tab to log it for bookkeeping without moving any money through Liminal.
